Robert J. Whitaker  Sr. is the Senior Pastor & Co-founder of Victory Praise & Worship Center in Minden, Louisiana.  Pastor Whitaker acknowledged his calling to the Gospel ministry while serving in the United States Air Force and a member of the Vogelweh Gospel Fellowship in Kaiserslautern, Germany.  His hunger for the knowledge of God and a desire to spread and share the WORD led him to become a student of the Bible and a powerful presenter of the Gospel.  Pastor Whitaker was licensed in June of 1992 and Ordained as a Minster of the Gospel in July of 1993, under the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.  He was later Ordained and Affirmed in September 2004 by Bishop T.D. Jakes as a covenant partner of the Potter’s House International Pastoral Alliance.

Pastor Whitaker is the former President of the Minden Ministerial Alliance and Assistant Chaplain for the Minden Medical Center.  Prior to dedicating himself to full-time ministry he was employed as a Case Manager and Chaplain for Hope Youth Ranch; an in resident youth facility for at-risk males.  Pastor Whitaker is a appointed civil servant who serves the Minden community as a member of the Minden regional Planning Commission, president of the Board of Directors for the United Christian Home (homeless shelter) and a member of the Board of Directors for the Mid-South Webster Chamber of Commerce.

Pastor Whitaker is a retired veteran, having served in the United States Air Force for 20 years.  He earned his B.A and M.A (Counseling) from Louisiana Tech University.  Pastor Whitaker is licensed by the State of Louisiana as a professional counselor (LPC) and a Certified Clinical Chaplain.  He is a native of Baltimore, Maryland.  Married to the former Mary J. English of Miami, Florida; the Whitaker’s have five children and one grandson.

Genuine, dedicated, spirit-filled, anointed and edifying are the terms most frequently used in describing this energetic preaching and teaching man of God.
