The Ordinances of the Church
We believe that the Lord Jesus left two ordinances for His church to observe until His return:
The Lords Supper (Luke 22:14-20) and Water Baptism (Matthew 28:19).
The Lords Supper
An act of worship whereby persons who have acknowledged Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior partake of a meal of bread and the fruit of the vine to commemorate the death of Jesus and His anticipated second coming. (1 Corinthians 11:23-30).
Water Baptism
The ordinance of baptism is by complete submersion in water and should be observed as commanded in the Scriptures by all who have repented and believe on Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Baptism is an act of obedience that bears witness and symbolizes our union with Christ as our Lord and Savior.
In doing so, believers experience the spiritual death of the flesh and declare to the world that, even as we have entered into the death of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have also been raised to walk with Him in the newness of life. (Romans 6:3-8, Colossians 2:12).
